Radiation from Fukushima harming local infants in Southern California

The nuclear disaster in Fukushima may be affecting the health of young children over 23,000 kilometers away in San Diego. Soon after the disaster, Beta radiation levels in the city were over 6 times higher than the normal amount, harming infants and toddlers nearly two years later.

Sounds like they’re trying not to alarm the public. Kind of like the way doctors used to refrain from telling somebody that they had a terminal disease. This is wrong, in my opinion.

Good point, although I’d consider the pressure the news crew must have born to get this cover-up (by US and Japan govt) into the mainstream media; they probably needed to be a bit more diplomatic rather than an outright alarm. Still good on them as other media simply keep totally quiet about this.
