Suicide Rate Growing In Italy Over Economic Woes

On Tuesday in Italy, a man who was 10,000 Euros in debt, doused himself in gasoline and set himself on fire. Hardly a day goes by in Italy without reports of new suicide attempts or violent episodes linked to the great recession which has been staggering the country for several years. In 2012, just under 90 people ended their own lives relating to unfortunate economic factors, while in 2013 almost 20 people have claimed their own lives just in the month of April.
