Buzz Bissinger: American Universities Have The Wrong Priorities

Buzz Bissinger, the author of ‘Friday Night Lights’, makes his opening statement for the motion of banning college football. He cites the ridiculousness of how coaches can earn 5x-10x the annual salary of a university President. All over the world, colleges and universities are intended to be institutions of higher learning, but many U.S. universities are unique in that they are little more than over-funded athletic programs. It is merely incidental that one also receives a degree after 4 years and $100,000 in tertiary education related expenditures.
