Drones Undermine U.S. Diplomatic Efforts

Pakistani journalist Ahmed Rashid argues that the drone program completely diminishes the positive aspects of American diplomacy overseas, especially among its allies in the war against terror. He brings about the examples of Yemen and Pakistan, who are allies of the United States, but the mounting civilian deaths caused by U.S. drones are infuriating the local population.

He later questions the legality of bombing and killing individuals in other countries when the United States is not officially in a state of war, when nothing is disclosed, and there is no transparency involved.
