As the Arctic sea ice melts away at an alarming rate, access to vast oil reserves is opening up – and countries bordering the region are determined to defend their slice of the pie. The polar seabed may hold as much as 15 percent of the world’s undiscovered oil – and 30 per cent of its gas.
