The State Will Always Be The Biggest Danger
The state will always be the greatest danger to peace and prosperity, but they would rather have you believe it’s a non-existent “blizzard”.
By now, I’m sure most of you heard of the snowstorm that hit the east coast of the United States. Before it all happened we were overwhelmed with warnings about the ‘blizzard of the century’ that would leave several feet of snow. Politicians were there with all manner of warnings. They were assuring us that any inconvenience, like downed power lines, would be quickly fixed by the state. Roads off limits to travel because of safety concerns, would quickly be removed of snow.
Well, we survived and it was much less then predicted. But it made me think how easily we drop bombs, “shock and awe”, and turn countries located an ocean away into complete chaos. Places where the end result of our “freedom” spreading, is warring rebel groups who take their fights into once peaceful neighborhoods and streets.
Sometimes the chaos is so great people leave by the hundreds of thousands, forcibly displaced in their own country for the sake of preserving their own lives. They must travel long distances and cross borders, with many dying along the way. Never do politicians who glibly get us into these wars, ever talk about what they inflict on these populations who mean the United States no harm.
They turn Iraqis into “savages” for Chris Kyle clones, and provide them with a killing field, free from all negative consequences of their mortifying actions. Hell, maybe they will even get a book deal or a movie made in their “honor” if they manage to kill enough people. The state will turn them into non-beings for the American people, and that’s why people are getting so comfortable with war.
Big government and the military-industrial complex will always be the greatest danger, both to the United States and the world as a whole. I’ll take a stupid New York “blizzard” anytime over a Boston neighborhood “lockdown”.
